A progressive designer and manufacturer of upscale fashion jewelry needed to find a way to manage manufacturing costs without sacrificing the quality and artistry of his innovative designs. Transitioning from handcrafted master models to technology driven processes provided some relief. However, there were certain unique design features that were simply not possible with even the most expensive, sophisticated milling machines.
Faced with this dilemma, Solidscape became the solution for replicating his most challenging design features. The hands-free process built hollows, prongs and complicated shapes that met this expert designer’s uncompromising expectations. Having learned the trade from master craftsmen, he had an eye for detail.
Asked to compare the quality of the Solidscape technology to that of handcrafting, the designer judged it to be close, if not better. He further explained that to match Solidscape's machine precision, it would take “forever” to handcraft a master model. He eventually added several more Solidscape machines to his business.
