Contact: Summary: Solidscape, Inc. Expands Its T6x Product Line, Announces the T612 3D Solid Modeling System July 29, 2003 (Merrimack, NH) - Solidscape, Inc. today announced the T612 master modeling system to coincide with the start of the ACM Siggraph trade show in San Diego, California, USA. The T612 provides an affordable alternative to traditional methods of creating master patterns for investment casting and silicone rubber molding. Based on 5th generation Solidscape technology, the T612 system is the flagship of the Solidscape product line. "We are very excited about the T612 and the value that it brings to the industry," said David Bothwell, Solidscape's president and CEO. "For people who investment cast intricate parts requiring an outstanding surface finish, and incorporating fine feature detail, the Solidscape T612 is the solution to consider. The T612 doubles the build capacity of the smaller Solidscape T66 personal modeler and provides a 25% speed advantage based upon part geometry. And while the T66 targets the needs of the fine jewelry, medical and dental industries, the T612 targets these markets as well as the general industrial, toy, avionics, electrical/electronics, firearms, and automotive industries." The T612 hardware/software system produces high-precision casting masters from industry standard 3D CAD files. Using an additive, drop-on-demand technology, the T612 boasts an accuracy of 0.001 inches per inch across the X,Y and Z dimensions. Features can be as small as 0.010 inches and layers as thin as 0.0005 inches. The maximum build area is 12"W x 6"D x 6"H. The T612 master modeler jets a proprietary thermoplastic for model creation and a dissolvable wax support structure to support cavities, overhangs and undercuts. The thermoplastic is ideal for investment casting, exhibiting no shrinkage or expansion and a clean, low temperature burnout. Both materials are non-toxic. The T612 master modeler operates in an office environment with no special electrical requirements and fits nicely into your existing office environment with its relatively small footprint. Solidscape, Inc., a privately held company with over 800 systems installed worldwide, manufactures the T612, T66 and PatternMaster systems in Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA.
