Summary: Solidscape®, Inc. Introduces World's First Benchtop 3D Printer... MERRIMACK, NH, December 1, 2004 - Solidscape®, Inc., a leading provider of precision rapid pattern making systems, today announced the T6x BENCHTOP line of 3D printers to coincide with the opening of the EuroMold trade show in Frankfurt, Germany. The T6x BENCHTOP line provides the most affordable alternative to traditional methods of creating high-resolution master patterns for investment casting and silicone rubber molding ever produced by Solidscape. Available immediately, the first two models of the T6x BENCHTOP line consist of the T66 BENCHTOP with a build area of 6 x 6 x 6 inches (15.24 x 15.24 x 15.24 centimeters) and the T612 BENCHTOP with a build area of 12 x 6 x 6 inches (30.48 x 15.24 x 15.24 centimeters). Each system is designed to reside at the workbench or in a compatible office environment. Continuing Solidscape's history of providing materials with exceptional casting characteristics, two new products are also announced for use in the T6x BENCHTOP line: InduraCast and InduraFill. InduraCast, the model composition material, boasts a 200% strength increase over Solidscape's BlueCast that was shown at EuroMold last year. In addition, continuing system development in hardware and configuration software provides the benchtop modelers with the ability to produce models of the same or superior quality as seen at last year's EuroMold, but at up to three times the speed, depending upon part geometry. David Bothwell, President and CEO of Solidscape, said that the T6x BENCHTOP line is the most significant offering yet from Solidscape. “The T6x BENCHTOP line fits well within the parameters of both the targeted industrial market and our traditional jewelry design and manufacturing market, and addresses customer needs in the areas of reduced pricing, higher speed and greater material strength.” Also new for the T6x BENCHTOP line is an extended-use build substrate called InduraBase. InduraBase provides operators with significant cost savings on consumables used with the T6x BENCHTOP line, reduces system setup time and further improves return-on-investment. Domestic pricing for the T66 and T612 BENCHTOP is $39,900 and $49,900 USD respectively and includes a 90-day warranty. International pricing is $45,650 and $55,650 respectively and includes a one-year warranty and a set of spare jets. Prices are FOB plant. Solidscape®, Inc., a privately held company, manufactures InduraCast, InduraFill, InduraBase, the T66 BENCHTOP and T612 BENCHTOP systems in their facility at 316 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, New Hampshire 03054 USA.
